The Butler’s Collection, Reconstructed, was a site-specific work at the John Innes Research Institute Gallery. The Butler’s Collection, Archived, was a site-specific work at Blickling Hall, Norfolk.

Reconstruction‘ and ‘Archived’ were inspired by M. S Merian ‘s The Wondrous Transformation of Caterpillars (1730), a copy of which is held in the archive at the John Innes Research Institute.  Merian was an intrepid female botanical illustrator whose work includes hybrid insects of her own invention.
